Why Made in Chelsea Is Still Worth Binging After 22 Series, According to Fans

Glitzy nights out, fabulous parties, and a steady stream of intrigue have cemented Made in Chelsea's status as a pop culture icon over 22 series. When the latest series premiered in October, it brought viewers right back into SW3 lifestyle — complete with relationship drama, love triangles, and so much more.

With the cast back on Kings Road and on our TV screens, we caught up with a couple of diehard Made in Chelsea fans to find out exactly what has kept them hooked over countless episodes. Here's why they're still tuning in after all this time.

You Get Really Invested In the Cast's Lives

Even if they have a more glamorous wardrobe and fancier flat than you could ever afford, at the end of the day, the stars of Made in Chelsea go through many of the same challenges as viewers. "I love the storyline between Sam Thompson and Tiff Watson. It's a coming-of-age story between two people trying to navigate life as young professionals," longtime fan Chinedu Azinge said.

Since so much of the cast's lives are filmed — including heartbreak, failure, and drama — you can also get really invested in their emotional lives. Fan Hilario Williams said he has loved watching the cast evolve — and really wants the best for them. "I would love to see some sort of vulnerability with Liv Bentley," Williams said. "She seems a little too guarded and I really just look forward to her letting her hair down for once."

There Are Always Juicy Revelations

Though cast members have come and gone over 22 series, the drama remains constant. From Spencer and Louise's iconic breakup on the bridge to Millie's epic toast (er, roast) to friendship, there's always something going down.

For Williams, "the most impactful moment on Made in Chelsea would have to be the revelation that Binky and JP were going to have a baby after they publicly broke up on the show." As juicy as that information was, Williams said seeing Binky and JP work well together as co-parents was even more impactful.

The Storylines Are Emotional

Even when you're watching the cast sip Champagne in a swanky SW3 lounge or drive out to someone's country estate for a theme party, the show is really all about their personal lives — and it can get quite emotional. This series, fans were devastated to watch Ollie and Gareth struggle to conceive a child with a surrogate, but Azinge said he still hopes for the best for the couple. "I'm genuinely looking forward to the development of Ollie and Gareth as they recently got married," Azinge said. "To see Ollie fully grasp himself unapologetically is refreshing."

Made in Chelsea doesn't shy away from sharing the stars' unvarnished reactions — even when things get messy. "There was a huge incident when Tiff went to work in Hong Kong and cheated on Sam," Azinge said. Although it was painful to watch, "seeing Sam's devastation was impactful to the heteronormative norm of men being tough."
