Christmas Is Coming Early With These New Films Hitting Netflix in November

Christmas is making an early return, because Netflix is set to roll out some of its many festive movie offerings in November. Throughout the month, you can expect to see the third instalment in the Princess Switch franchise, a festive rom-com starring Darren Barnet and Nina Dobrev, and a highly anticipated retelling of the story of Father Christmas with Kristen Wiig and Maggie Rogers.

But Christmas films aren't the only new movies coming this November — you can also expect to see several highly anticipated action flicks, musicals, and dramas, like The Harder They Fall, Red Notice, Tick, Tick...Boom, and other films from all over the globe. Here's what you should have on your radar for November.

1. The Harder They Fall

With an all-star cast that includes Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, and Regina King, this western drama tells the story of Nat Love, an outlaw (played by Majors) who discovers that the man who murdered his parents is being released from prison. In order to seek revenge Nat decides to reunite his old gang to raise up some hell.

2. Love Hard

Starring Darren Barnet and Nina Dobrev, this holiday rom-com follows a young woman from LA who travels to her hometown to meet up with a dating app match for Christmas, only to discover she's been catfished. Luckily, the catfish knows her old crush, and he promises to set her up with him, but there's a catch: she has to pretend to be his girlfriend for the Christmas holidays.

3. Passing

Based on the novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, this drama revolves around two mixed-race childhood friends (played by Tessa Thomson and Ruth Negga) who reunite in adulthood. When they meet, the duo discover that one of them is living out her life as a Black woman, while the other passes as white.

4. Red Notice

Originally scheduled for release back in June 2020, this long-awaited action thriller stars the winning trio of Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. The film tells the story of the FBI's top profiler who's on a mission to hunt and capture two rival criminals.

5. Tick, Tick... Boom!

Based on Jonathan Larson's semi-autobiographical musical of the same name, this musical drama (which marks Lin-Manuel Miranda feature directorial debut) revolves around an aspiring NYC theatre composer facing a crisis while on the cusp of 30. You can expect to see a lot of familiar faces in this one, including Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens, Robin de Jesús, Joshua Henry, and Bradley Whitford, among others.

6. Bruised

Halle Berry directs and stars in this sports drama that follows a disgraced MMA fighter who gets a new lease on life after she reunites with her estranged son.

7. Robin Robin

This stop-motion festive musical short follows a bird — raised by mice — who goes on an epic journey of self-discovery.

8. 7 Prisoners

In this Brazilian drama, a young man leaves the countryside searching for a job opportunity in São Paulo at a junkyard, only to end up becoming trapped doing unpaid labour for the junkyard's owner against his will.

Based on the book of the same name by Matt Haig, this playful reimagining of the story of Father Christmas follows a boy named Nikolas who sets off North on a search to find his father. You can expect to see some familiar faces such as Kristen Wiig and Maggie Smith.

Brook Shields and Cary Elwes star in this festive rom-com that follows a wealthy American author who has her eye on a castle in Scotland. However, the Scottish Duke who owns it is reluctant to sell to a foreigner.
