Details on season two's plot are being kept quiet for now, but Brie did spill a few secrets about what's ahead for Ruth in a November interview with HelloGiggles. The actor promised that Ruth and the rest of the women will be far more competitive in the new season. Now that the show within the show is actually filming, the women will be jockeying for time in the ring — and given Ruth's drive to succeed, you can bet that she'll be doing whatever it takes to make sure her wrestling character succeeds.
Meanwhile, things are far from back to normal for Ruth and Debbie. Just because they came together for that big fight in the season finale that doesn't mean their friendship is back on track. Gilpin told TVLine, "In season one, it's almost easy for them to compartmentalize their friendship and explain away why they have to be together, because of this wrestling show. It's the perfect excuse for them to be physically near each other, because they really love each other. That becomes harder and harder as time goes on, when they never really had the conversation of 'Hey, you did this to me. Apologize,' or Ruth never got to say, 'These are the ways in which I felt mistreated by you as a friend' . . . It's getting harder and harder for them to ignore."
The drama for these two friends is far from over.
