"The Serpent" tells the story of Charles Sobhraj, a serial killer who preyed on travellers on the so-called "Hippie Trail" in the 1970s. Sobhraj (Tahar Rahim) and his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc (Jenna Coleman) make an eerily charming pair, and the story is made even more intense by the fact that it's true.
