Netflix's funny, touching, and relevant teen dramedy has been an instant hit, thanks in no small part to the talented young cast that includes Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey, and Ncuti Gatwa. An episode can easily swing from gross-out comedy to touching emotion in the space of minutes, and the stylised setting (a kind of "1970s retro now") makes it unique and memorable. The show returns for its second season in early 2020.
