The Electric Heir, the sequel to Victoria Lee's The Fever King, picks up six moths after Noam Alvaro brings down the government of Carolina. Lehrer is now Chancellor, but Noam is beginning to remember that it was Lehrer who causes the infection that ravages Carolina in the first place. Noam wants to bring Lehrer down but must do it while continuing to feign allegiance. If Lehrer finds out, it could cost Noam his life.
