Julia Roberts's portrayal of the titular real-life lawyer Erin Brockovich earned her both a BAFTA and an Oscar. After getting in an accident, which wasn't her fault, Erin asks her lawyer to hire her at his law firm. While working, she stumbles across medical records placed within some real estate files and begins to investigate. Soon, she realises there's a cover-up involving contaminated water causing illnesses in a local community, and she makes it her mission to take down the company behind it.
