Sydney Sweeney Wears a Thongkini and a Plunging Gown in "Anyone but You"
Sydney Sweeney has stepped into her rom–com era in the most stylish way. For the trailer of her new highly anticipated movie "Anyone but You," costarring Glen Powell, the actress gives us a glimpse into her evolving style with simple, chic looks. Sweeney's "Anyone but You" outfits run the gamut from the polarising thongkini trend to a plunging slip dress.
The 26-year-old is first seen in two sultry ensembles — a nude brown halterneck dress that transitions to a dainty white floral two-piece bikini featuring a high-cut thong bottom. Sweeney then changes to a one-piece version of the same bikini, this time featuring a small cutout below her chest and worn with white flowing shorts. Halfway through the teaser, she's seen in a wedding scene wearing a baby-blue '90s-inspired slip dress with a plunging cowl neckline. Accessorised with minimal gold earrings and her hair styled in a messy bun, the look effortlessly screams romance.
The "White Lotus" star has developed a reputation for wearing chic yet revealing silhouettes. She recently rocked a plunging black leather bustier top and skirt from Alexander McQueen while celebrating her Variety Power of Young Hollywood cover; among several looks for the Variety shoot, she nailed the Barbiecore trend in a plunging vintage Versace swimsuit.
She's produced other noteworthy style moments with the help of stylist Molly Dickson, often tapping into the Y2K trend, including a black Schiaparelli naked dress for her "Reality" premiere and a glittery Miu Miu miniskirt and cropped button-up top at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
She even wears outfits that reflect her onscreen characters, such as a light-pink baby-T-and-cargo-skirt combo reminiscent of her role as Cassie Howard on "Euphoria."
