Directed by Joe Mantello, who also coordinated a stage production of the original play, The Boys in the Band follows a group of gay men (including one character portrayed by The Prom's Andrew Rannells) who get together for a party in New York City. Ryan Murphy, who directed The Prom, also happens to be a co-producer for the movie.
