Libra (Sept. 22-Oct. 23): The Widows of Malabar Hill by Sujata Massey

As a social-justice warrior, Libras will love Sujata Massey's The Widows of Malabar Hill, whose protagonist, Perveen Mistry, is one of the first-ever woman lawyers in India. Upon investigating the will of Omar Farid — who was one of the wealthiest Muslim business owners in their city with three wives — Perveen learns all three of his widows have forfeited their money to charities. Flabbergasted, Perveen digs deeper and discovers one of the widows didn't even sign her own name, but rather an "X." Perveen realises the only way she can get to the bottom of this is by visiting the Farid widows herself, which turns out to be a bigger obstacle than she imagined as the women live in absolute seclusion. Are they safe? How are they supporting their families if their late husband left them nothing and they can't leave their quarters? Saturated in female cooperation combined with a character trying to grapple with the injustices women face in a male-dominated society, Libras will be left with a jaw-dropping ending.
