Will Eddie Brock and Venom Be the Villain in Spider-Man 4?

Those who waited in the theatre to see the midcredits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home know Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom are briefly transported into Peter Parker's (Tom Holland's) universe after Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch's) spell. This opens up the possibility of Venom entering the MCU even though Venom is technically not an MCU franchise.

The postcredit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage also backs up the idea that Eddie and Venom could star as villains in Spider-Man 4. In it, Eddie and Venom are watching TV in a tropical hotel room and see the news broadcast that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Venom then remembers his encounters with him in previous comics and movies (he's an all-knowing interdimensional being, after all).

In a September interview with IGN, Venom director Andy Serkis foreshadowed a future meeting between Venom and Spider-Man. Based on this foreshadowing, Giant Freakin Robot further theorized "a different symbiote character named Toxin could overtake Eddie Brock and force Venom to go on a villainous tirade targeting Spider-Man."

Spider-Man 4 won't be for a while, but with both ending credit scenes from Let There Be Carnage and No Way Home indicating a connection, most signs point to a crossover.
