Jessie Mei Li returns as Alina Starkov, a Sun Summoner with the power to control light. An orphan and a soldier of the First Army, Alina is a powerful character who lets nothing stand in her way. As for Alina's story in season two, Li shared with Elle after season one, "Because Kirigan's got his shadow soldiers, and then obviously Alina gets her own army, I'd love to see how that manifests and how that affects her."
Li was a relative newcomer when she landed her role in "Shadow and Bone," but she's since had a role in "Last Night in Soho" and has a part in the upcoming film "Havoc."
