Archie Renaux is back as Malyen Oretsev, Alina's best friend and confidante in the First Army. At the end of season one, he and Alina are on a ship from Os Kervo headed for Ketterdam, which is where season two will most likely pick up.
Renaux was also a relative newcomer before "Shadow and Bone," but he has upcoming roles in "Morbius," "Zero," and "The Other Zoey."
