This Shakespeare spin-off marked Rhimes's first foray into historical drama. Set after the events of "Romeo and Juliet," the show imagines the city of Verona still rife with factional tensions, even after the promise of peace after tragedy. In an attempt to stave off the looming threats, the Prince of Verona orders a betrothal between Juliet's cousin Rosaline and Romeo's cousin Benvolio, two of the few survivors of the original play. The pair have no interest in the marriage, but as they're forced to work together to uncover what's happening in Verona, they grow closer and closer. After just one seaason, the series was cancelled in 2017.
