"The Walking Dead: Dead City" Cast

In addition to Morgan and Cohan reprising their roles of Negan and Maggie, respectively, Deadline confirmed in April 2022 that "Friday Night Lights" alum Gaius Charles will play Perlie Armstrong in the forthcoming series.

According to his character description, Perlie is "confident, ruthless, and unyielding in the pursuit of what he believes in justice, with the force of his will and his menace. He enjoys his work and intersperses humour with the terror he incites. This is a family man, devoted to building a safe world for his wife and daughters. His journey unearths a loss he is haunted by. He has patience and resilience and walks rather than runs from his mistakes."

Any additional cast members or potential franchise crossovers are yet to be announced. "The Walking Dead" writer and co-executive producer Eli Jorné has joined the project as its showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Morgan and Cohan are also set to executive produce "Dead City," while Scott M. Gimple, "The Walking Dead"'s producer, writer, and showrunner, has come aboard as the chief content officer of the franchise to oversee the production.
