The dress code for the 2023 Met Gala is, of course, centred around the theme of paying homage to Karl Lagerfeld. Practically, that means guests have one of three options. They can wear a vintage look designed by Lagerfeld, like Willow Smith's Chanel ensemble from the 2016 Met Gala. They can choose a contemporary design from Fendi or Chanel, the 2 most iconic fashion houses where Lagerfeld served as creative director. Or, they can dress up as the late designer, perhaps choosing a black suit and tie, fingerless gloves, and his signature dark sunglasses.
