Bring on the Butterbeer! These Harry Potter Recipes Will Inspire an Enchanting Party

We all know Harry Potter fans can't get enough of the wizarding world, and thanks to these sweet and savoury recipes, they'll have a taste of it. Though it may be difficult (or, er, impossible) for us measly muggles to recreate spells, one thing we can bring to life is the food and drink mentioned in the books. From tasty renditions of the books' famous butterbeer to sweet, golden-snitch-inspired recipes and even a savoury, cherry-studded ham for dinner, your family and friends will be beyond impressed by your wizard-like abilities. Though it may not be as easy as shouting "Accio butterbeer!", these recipes are absolutely doable for the home cook.

The Golden Snitch Cocktail

Influenced with Harry Potter's golden snitch, this bubbly drink is made with sweet apple cider, whiskey, St. Germain, lemon, maple, and a few spices. Rim it with cinnamon sugar and you have the perfect cocktail to sip while reading the series (for the 100th time).

Ogden's Old Firewhisky and Blishen's Firewhisky are a few popular brands of the alcohol said to create a burning sensation while consumed and to inspire courage. While it's not entirely known what's in it, we imagine it to be like homemade Fireball, a combination of whiskey, cinnamon, and spicy chillis.

Rock Cake

A type of fruitcake with a crunchy exterior served with tea, rock cake takes on a literal meaning when Hagrid makes them. His batches are usually so overcooked that they nearly break teeth when chewed. Though this confection has earned a terrible reputation, when made correctly (and served with blue cheese as is traditional in England), rock cake may earn a place in your heart.
