In the Lake District, Shap Swimming Pool sits nearly 1,000 feet above sea level, so it's thought to be the country's highest heated outdoor pool. Run by volunteers, the pool is heated to 26 degrees, and there's a baby pool as well as picnic tables and benches, plus a small shop for refreshments.
