The Marsha P. Johnson Institute

An activist, self-identified drag queen, performer, and prominent figure in the Stonewall uprising in 1969, Marsha P. Johnson protected and defended the human rights of Black transgender people before her death in 1992. The Marsha P. Johnson Institute is a community of people who are working toward developing transformative leadership and ensuring people are free to be themselves.
