This Crazy Rich Asians star's textured braid at The Critics' Choice Awards was created using drugstore hair products.
Gemma Chan's hairstylist for the evening, Clariss Rubenstein, used two $5 dry shampoos from Dove to achieve her look. "I used a one-inch barrel curling iron to create loose waves, added Dove Care Between Washes Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo ($5) at the root and crown, and Dove Care Between Washes Invisible Dry Shampoo ($5) all over the hair to create tons of texture," Rubenstein, who's a brand partner, said. "Her hair is dark, and the red carpet cameras tend to pick up on product residue, so the Dove Care Between Washes Invisible Dry Shampoo was key in giving her look some seamless texture." She then started a low braid at the nape of Chan's neck, and added a black ribbon at the top and bottom of it as a final touch.
