Dove Cameron Tried to DIY Her Own Black Manicure, and Wow, Her Post Is So Relatable

Dove Cameron's latest post will bring back memories of the last time you couldn't wait to make a nail appointment. The actress and singer posted a close-up photo of what appears to be a grown-out, matte black gel manicure that she tried to fill in herself using a black nail polish. The polish in the photo had a glossy finish and was smudged across her nails and her cuticle area. Cameron posted a photo of her handiwork with the simple smiley face as a caption.
"Hahaaa I was touching your nails earlier and thought it was some artsy nail job by the feel of it," actress Georgie Flores commented on the post, while another user commended Cameron for doing "a great job."
Cameron's post might remind you of the impatience you feel in between manicure appointments, but it's important to note that she didn't choose to peel the long-wear material off of her nails herself. It's best to leave gel removal up to the pros, but if you seriously can't wait for your next appointment, celebrity nail artist Elle gave us a safe way to do so.
She previously told POPSUGAR to file down the gel until it's no longer shiny. Then, she suggested securing acetone-soaked cotton balls on each nail with tinfoil around them and leaving them on for at least 10 minutes.
