During the third season of Queer Eye in Kansas City, MO, Porowski was very sleep deprived. Between filming the series and working on his cookbook, he was only getting four to five hours of sleep a night. "When I came back, I decided that it was something that I really wanted to change," he said. "I've implemented different things into my evening to make going to sleep more attractive and something to look forward to. I have little remedies that I use, like fresh-grated ginger with grapefruit and honey and hot water to help me calm down a bit."
He also has started using melatonin to help unwind. "The [Olly] melatonin gummies ($14) have really come in handy," he said. "I pop two of those and I set my alarm — this is a new nonnegotiable. Whenever I can, it's eight hours of sleep. It's something that's super important because it allows me to function better."
