U Beauty Resurfacing Compound

When U Beauty Resurfacing Compound (£85-£215) launched in the States, it sold out every time a retailer got new stock. And on 1 May, it finally arrives in the UK. Created by Tina Craig (of @bagsnob fame), this serum promises to streamline your skin-care routine to just four products (cleanser, compound, moisturiser, and SPF) as it basically contains everything you need: antioxidants, alpha hydroxy acids, peptides, hyaluronic acids, retinol (retinol palmitate, to be exact), and vitamins C and E in one completely recyclable tube.

How does it contain all of that without burning off your face? Craig worked closely with cosmetic chemists in Italy to develop a proprietary molecule — which the brand calls SIRENS — that attracts the free radicals in your skin like magnets. Once the free radicals penetrate the SIRENS capsule, all of those ingredients listed above are released into your skin. And with free radicals out of the way, they can neither damage your skin cells, nor can they react with the ingredients in the compound — which is what can cause adverse reactions in people's skin when using products loaded with active ingredients. After seven to 10 days of continued use, the brand promises your skin will be firmer, your pores will look smaller, and your redness will be greatly reduced.
