The new DHC Urumai Hydrating Lotion (£22) isn't really a lotion per se. The texture is more like that of a toner or micellar water (although it's nothing like either of those two things) and it's meant to be patted onto the skin immediately after washing your face and before applying your moisturiser. Like all of the products in the brand's three-step Urumai Collection (which also includes a bar soap and face cream), the lotion includes a "rice peptide complex" (a proprietary ingredient made from four different types of rice-based ingredients) as well as sake, the combination of which helps both very gently exfoliate the skin as well as hydrate it — leaving your complexion looking brighter and feeling softer.
