Even though a monochromatic smoky eye stays in the same colour family, it's still possible to create depth. The golden rule, says Garland, is to layer different formulas and textures. "Use a small amount from the pipette and using your ring finger, gently press onto the eyelid, going slightly above the crease." Then, build upon the base using cream, foiled or liquid eyeshadows.
