Post Malone's New Smile Is Worth £1.1 Million — See His 12-Carat "Diamond Fangs"
Post Malone is here to give Count Dracula a run for his money, in every sense of the phrase. In news that's sure to infiltrate my thoughts again when I'm brushing my teeth tonight, Post Malone went to the dentist for a $1.6 million (approximately £1.1 million) smile reconstruction and emerged with a set of 12-carat "diamond fangs" so sparkly, my wallet hurts just looking at them.
"Post Malone completed his $1,600,000 smile reconstruction last weekend!!" Malone's dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly captioned an Instagram post showing off the "Circles" singer's new teeth on Monday. "With a smile that shows off natural Porcelain Veneer work framed with 2 Diamond Fangs with a total weight of 12 Carats, Post Malone literally has $1 million smile!!!"
"They light up the room. They sparkle, they shine; they're amazing."
The Beverly Hills dentist, who has also done cosmetic dental work on celebrities like Travis Barker and DaBaby, used 40 carats of diamonds sourced from Belgium and cut in Israel to shape Malone's custom smile, which he requested after seeing the embeds in other rappers' teeth.
"He's now got two functional, full diamond teeth," Dr. Connelly said in an interview with Rolling Stone, adding that Malone can brush and function as he normally would. "They light up the room. They sparkle, they shine; they're amazing."
The entire construction process took about a year and a half of trial and error and the teeth took months to insert, requiring an experienced team of professionals, including cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi and Isaac Bokhoor of Angel City Jewelers.
According to Connelly, Malone isn't the only celebrity who's had their eyes on this particular smile style. "I've been talking to a few other people who were waiting to see how this turned out before they dropped their million. So we'll see," he said.
