Taylor Swift's Chrome Nails Deserve Their Own Award

Taylor Swift is in her chrome era. On 27 March, the singer attended the iHeart Radio Music Awards where she was honoured with the iHeartRadio Innovator accolade. Aside from the iconic behaviour she displayed in her speech, there was another thing that caught our attention: her chrome nails.

It's a nail trend the singer has worn before. At the American Music Awards back in November 2022, Swift wore a gold version of the manicure, but this time, her nails were much edgier. For the occasion, Swift kept the shape square and short with no extensions. To match her stunning Alexandre Vauthier catsuit, she opted for a black polish that had a duo-chrome finish — in certain lighting, it looked blue and in others, green. The manicure was finished with a glossy top coat to provide even more shine.

Chrome nails have been spotted on numerous red carpets in 2022 and 2023. Other A-list celebrities like Zendaya, Kate Hudson, and Dua Lipa have also worn the trend, and new iterations like chrome french manicures have come out of the original. The design is super easy to recreate (with or without the powder), making it the perfect accessory to go with your "The Eras" tour outfit, should you snag yourself tickets.
