Bindi Irwin's Emotional Tribute to Her Late Father Will Break Your Heart in Half
It's been 11 years since Steve Irwin tragically passed away, but his family has made it their mission to keep his legacy alive. After a clip for the Irwin family's upcoming Animal Planet TV series aired during Sunday night's Super Bowl, Steve's 19-year-old daughter, Bindi, shared an emotional video of her father talking about his family on Instagram.
"My first time watching this footage was only a few days ago. I don't think I'll ever be able to describe the amount of emotion in my heart once the video ended," Bindi wrote. "My dad. My superhero. I promise to do my best to make you proud and ensure your legacy lives on forever. A new chapter in our lives has begun as we embark on this journey with @animalplanet. There is so much on the horizon. We can't wait to share our story as a family ❤️🐊 #WildlifeWarriors."
Bindi was only 8 years old when her father died, but she and her 14-year-old brother, Robert, have followed in Steve's footsteps by working with animals and wildlife. They even help their mother, Terri, run the Australia Zoo. We have a feeling Steve would be very proud.
