March 31 marked the 23rd anniversary of Selena Quintanilla's tragic death, and her loved ones are making sure her memory lives on forever. On Saturday, Selena's husband, Chris Pérez, posted a throwback photo of him and Selena when they were teenagers on Instagram. "Although we all have our trials and tribulations that we have to go through in this life...we MUST be thankful for the ones that we meet along the way...that made us realise...love is REAL," Chris captioned it. "Love is UNCONDITIONAL...love NEVER DIES. #MyCoco."
Selena and Chris first met back in 1990 when he became a guitarist in her band Los Dinos. Even though Selena's dad Abraham didn't initially approve of their romance, they secretly eloped in April 1992. Sadly, Chris became a widower three years later when Selena was murdered by fan club manager Yolanda Saldívar. Chris eventually remarried a woman named Vanessa Villanueva in 2001, and they had two children, daughter Cassie and son Noah. However, they divorced in 2008.
