Meghan Markle Gets Henna Tattoo in Morocco Feb. 2019

Meghan Markle Celebrated Her Pregnancy in Morocco With a Henna Tattoo For Good Luck

Mum-to-be Meghan Markle is inching closer to her due date, and the celebrations surrounding her little one continue each and every day. After a star-studded baby shower in NYC this past week, the Duchess of Sussex jetted off to Morocco with husband Prince Harry for a royal tour. While visiting a girls' boarding house in the Atlas Mountains, Markle commemorated her seven months of pregnancy with a henna tattoo — just like her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton!

According to People, the (temporary) ink flowers covering Markle's left hand and forearm are meant to bring "good luck" to her and the baby. The natural brown henna used for the design is derived from plants, and is safe to use during pregnancy. This is sometimes confused with black henna, which is considered unsafe for pregnant women to use as it contains the chemical paraphenylenediamine, or PPD.

Prince Harry and Markle appeared to admire the delicate design as it was completed, and she continued to show the ink off throughout the rest of their visit. Ahead, see photos of Markle's henna tattoo from all angles.
