Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that she had to undergo "urgent fetal surgery" due to pregnancy complications. On 6 Sept., Kardashian and her husband, Travis Barker, both shared social media posts opening up about the terrifying experience.

"I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby's life," Kardashian wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her holding Barker's hand. "I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this," she added. "As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn't prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don't think anyone who hasn't been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant. Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍"

On Twitter, Barker echoed his wife's sentiments. "God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I'm so grateful went well," he wrote. "I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday."

Barker sparked concern among fans on 1 Sept. when his band Blink-182 postponed their European tour dates so he could return home. "Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed," the band wrote in a statement in a since-deleted Instagram story, per People. "More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."

Barker and Kardashian revealed they were expecting their first child together in June. The pair tied the knot in 2022 with a Las Vegas wedding and a lavish Italian wedding. The new baby will be Kardashian's fourth child; she shares 8-year-old Reign, 11-year-old Penelope, and 13-year-old Mason with her ex Scott Disick. Barker also has three children — a 19-year-old son named Landon, a 17-year-old daughter named Alabama, and a 24-year-old stepdaughter named Atiana, whom he shares with his ex Shanna Moakler.
