Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts. The couple — who tied the knot in August 2020 — attended the award show for the first time together on March 27. Nash stunned in a ruffled pink gown with a high leg slit and carried a clutch purse that read "Wifey For Lifey," while Betts wore an off-white suit, metallic-threaded shirt, and white bow loafers. They shared some tender moments while making their way into the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, walking hand in hand and putting their love on display for the cameras. Nash and Betts's date night at the Oscars comes just one month after they made history as the first same-sex couple to grace the cover of Essence magazine. Opening up about their relationship to the publication, Nash said, "The least of my attraction is gender. What I was and am still attracted to is Jessica's soul. She was the most beautiful soul I had ever met in my life. Now that I've experienced it, I can't imagine going through life without it," Betts added. "I absolutely feel fully seen. I feel like all of me is accepted. All of me is loved — and not just the part that I present, but the part that I don't necessarily show to everyone else."
