Katharina Nielsen

Season 1: Although the 2019 Katharina (Jördis Triebel) is a devoted mother and principal, 1986 Katharina (Nele Trebs) is just as much of a little rebel as her boyfriend. Regardless of which time period you meet her in, however, she's got some dangerously sharp edges to her personality.

Season 2: Katharina spends much of the season trying to figure out what happened to her husband Ulrich and son Mikkel. And while it takes her a while to get on board with the whole "Mikkel has travelled back in time to 1986 and is actually Michael Kahnwald" thing, when she does, she takes matters into her own hands. We leave her in 2019, the day of the apocalypse, crawling through the Winden cave with Jonas's map and nifty-shaped flashlight.

Season 3:

  • Adam's World: After traveling through the caves back to the '80s, Katharina lives in Ines Khanwald's home and searches each day for Mikkel, who is in protective custody following the incident with old Ulrich. She learns about Ulrich's whereabouts from young Hannah (and threatens her to stay away from both Mikkel and Ulrich, but LOL, we know how that turns out) and goes to visit him in the psychiatric facility, which her mother, Helene Albers, works at. She tells Ulrich she's going to break him out by stealing her mother's key card, but ends up in an altercation in the woods with Helene, who kills her own (future) daughter in self-defense.
  • Eva's World: As a divorcee living with her three increasingly rebellious kids, Katharina is just trying to stay connected to her children, especially Martha.
  • Origin World: In the origin world, Katharina becomes and remains friends with Hannah Krüger and Regina Tiedemann.
