Gilda Radner was known for making people laugh on Saturday Night Live, and now her extraordinary — and extraordinarily too short — life will be spotlighted in a brand new documentary. In an exclusive clip from Love, Gilda, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, you'll not only see rare photos of the actress and comedian, but also hear from her closest friends and admirers.
In fact, although SNL alum Amy Poehler never met Radner herself, she recognises just how important she was in paving the way for future performers. "To be a woman on that show was extremely different than when I was there," Poehler explains. "There was so much in the world that had yet to be carved out for women."
Watch the clip above before Love, Gilda arrives in theatres on Sept. 21.
