Stoneman Douglas Show Choir "Youth" at 2018 Billboards Video

The Stoneman Douglas Show Choir Performed at the BBMAs, Leaving Everyone in Tears

The Billboard Music Awards were full of important, passionate calls for gun reform on Sunday night. The annual award show kicked off with host Kelly Clarkson's emotional speech about the tragic Santa Fe school shooting, which left at least eight dead and a dozen hospitalized, and the theme continued when the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School show choir took the stage to perform alongside Khalid and Shawn Mendes.

The ensemble belted out Mendes's song, "Youth," a track which has poignant lyrics about the school shooting epidemic that has taken over the country. "Waking up to headlines / Filled with devastation again / My heart is broken / But I keep going," the group sang. "You can't take my youth away / This soul of mine will never break / As long as I wake up today / You can't take my youth away."
