In the Disney sequel, Miranda played Jack, a London lamplighter and handyman who knows all about Mary Poppins. He joins the Banks family and Mary Poppins in their adventures and gets to show off his song-and-dance skills in several of the movie's splash musical numbers.

Before he won a Tony for playing the complicated Aaron Burr in Hamilton, Odom had a supporting role in a TV show about a fictional Broadway show. On Smash, he played Sam Strickland, a veteran dancer and love interest for one of the lead characters. Odom "reprised" the role for the 2015 Actors Fund Smash reunion (as seen above), which was recently broadcast as a fundraiser.

In the 2017 remake, Odom was part of an ensemble cast that included Daisy Ridley, Kenneth Branagh, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, and more. He played Dr. Arbuthnot, a doctor and former soldier who's in a secret relationship that would cause more than a little scandal if revealed.

Odom tackled the role of William Still, a real-life abolitionist, in the Harriet Tubman biopic. Still was a Philadelphia-based activist who became a "conductor" on the Underground Railroad and worked alongside Tubman in her quest to rescue slaves from the South.

The final performance of the iconic Broadway show Rent was filmed for theatrical and home release in 2008, so audiences far from New York were able to experience Goldsberry's performance as the fiercely independent dancer Mimi, years before she took on another strong-willed leading lady: Angelica Schyler, the role she won a Tony for.

Goldsberry jumped into sci-fi as Quellcrist "Quell" Falconer on the Netflix series. Like her counterpart in the novels on which the show is based, Quell is a master strategist and a brilliant scientist who leads the rebel "Envoys" with everything she's got.

Goldsberry tackled the role of Catherine, a Florida stepmother trying to help hold her family together in the wake of terrible tragedy, in this indie film.

Long before she was Hamilton's soft-spoken leading lady Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, Soo played lovelorn countess Natasha Rostova in the off-Broadway iteration of this quirky, electro-folk-pop reimagining of War and Peace.

Soo's first post-Hamilton Broadway lead was in the short-lived but sweet musical adaptation of Amélie, in which she sang songs like this one, "Times Are Hard for Dreamers."

Soo went for a non-musical role in her most recent Broadway project: a play co-starring Uma Thurman.

Diggs joined the Netflix comedy in season three for a recurring arc, fresh off of winning a Tony for his fast-talking double role as the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. He played Perry, a philosophy student at Columbia who inspired Kimmy and became a friend and eventual love interest as she pursued her own education.

Not only did Diggs co-star in this 2018 indie dramedy, he also co-wrote and produced it. The movie follows a convicted felon who's only a few days out from finishing his probation when he witnesses an incident of police brutality that haunts him.

Diggs joined Jake Gyllenhaal, Toni Colette, and others in this horror satire, popping up as a rising young artist who finds himself on the outskirts of the unfolding horrors.

As rugged ex-detective Andre Layton, Diggs is one of the leads on the TNT adaptation of the sci-fi train thriller. He plays a former detective now forced to be a prisoner on the train, then roped into a game-changing conflict as unrest grows.

Ramos's supporting roles as John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton prepared him well for his first major movie. In the 2018 version of the classic Hollywood romance, Ramos had a small role as Ramon, who provides friendship and support to Lady Gaga's Ally as her music career skyrockets her to stardom.

Ramos had a leading role on the two-season Netflix series, playing Mars, a new version of the character played by series creator Spike Lee in the 1986 movie that inspired the show.

After playing the son of Miranda's character in Hamilton, Ramos is now succeeding him in the role of Usnavi, taking on the lead role in the upcoming film adaptation of In the Heights.

Before embodying the solid dignity of George Washington in Hamilton, Jackson already had a long and steady career on Broadway. One of his most memorable was definitely originating the role of aspiring businessman Benny in In the Heights, alongside pal and future Hamilton collaborator Miranda.

Jackson is part of the main cast of the quirky crime procedural. He plays Chunk Palmer, an ex-football star turned stylist and, eventually, law student. The show isn't afraid to use Jackson's Broadway talents, like in this stylized musical dream sequence!

Around the same time that her roles as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds were getting her more and more attention, Jones's film with Greta Gerwig came out. She plays Nicolette, part of a circle of college friends struggling to adjust and letting their messy personal lives influence their art.

Jones reunited with Hamilton co-star Diggs in his indie dramedy, in which she plays Ashley, a young mother worried about her ex's erratic behaviour.

Nearly a decade before he was nominated for a Tony for his turn as the petulant King George III, Groff snagged his first Tony nod in this edgy rock musical. He played Melchior, a 19th-century German teenage rebel who tries to help his friends throw off the repression forced on them by the adults around them.

Groff reunited with his Spring Awakening costar (and real life BFF) Lea Michele when he took on the role of arrogant glee club star Jesse St. James. He appeared on and off throughout the series, all the way up to the finale.

Possibly Groff's most famous non-theatrical role is also the one where he doesn't even show his face. He voiced iceman Kristoff in the 2013 original and again in 2019's sequel — in which he finally got his own song!

Although much of Groff's work has been family-friendly, this definitely was not. He was one of the three leads on HBO's dramedy Looking, which centreed on the funny, awkward, and occasionally explicit lives of three gay men in modern San Francisco.

Groff joined the crime-drama wave as FBI Agent Holden Ford on this tense drama, playing an agent tasked with developing and utilising behavioural science to understand criminals and solve crimes.

After originating the dual roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in Hamilton, Onaodowan shifted focus to TV, joining the Grey's Anatomy spin-off as firefighter Dean Miller.

DeBose had a fan-favourite featured dancer track in Hamilton, originating a track known as the "Bullet." Now she's moved on to major roles, soon to be seen as Anita in the upcoming movie remake of West Side Story.
