Juice Wrld's Posthumous Video For "Righteous" Is an Emotional Ode to the Rapper's Life

Juice Wrld's first posthumous song, "Righteous," is officially here. The release, which dropped on April 23, was accompanied by an emotional video that shows footage of the late rapper on tour and in the studio. It also features an animation in which he fights his inner demons before taking on an otherworldly form and disappearing into space. On the track, he discusses his battle with mental health, saying, "All white Gucci suit, I'm feeling righteous / I know that the truth is hard to digest / Five or six pills in my right hand / Codeine runneth over on my nightstand / Taking medicine to fix all of the damage / My anxiety the size of a planet."

Sadly, Juice Wrld — born Jarad Anthony Higgins — died at age 21 on Dec. 8 after suffering a seizure from an accidental overdose. His mother, Carmela Wallace, recently launched the Live Free 999 Fund, a charity that aims to help young people struggling with their mental health. "I made the decision upon his death that I was going to share his struggles with the world with the objective of helping others," Carmela said in a statement. "It is my desire to help those who are hurting by providing access to education, prevention and treatment for opioid and other forms of drug addiction. It is my hope that Live Free 999 will help people just as Jarad's music has and will continue to touch lives for years to come."
