Katy Perry's New Single "Daisies" Already Has Fans Theorising About Baby Names
On Thursday, ahead of her upcoming fifth album, Katy Perry released her latest single "Daisies" with an ethereal music video set in the forest (though some fans recognise it as her garden) to accompany it.
The three minute video shows Perry — wearing an all-white gown showing off her baby bump — wandering through a romantically-lit forest (or incredibly beautiful garden) covered in daisies, and even taking a dip in a waterfall.
"I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you've set for yourself, regardless of what others may think," Perry wrote in an Instagram post announcing the new single. "Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing. Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell," she added.
In March, Perry announced in her single "Never Worn White" that she's expecting her first child, a daughter, with partner Orlando Bloom. And people are already theorising in the comments that this song may point to clues of what their daughter's name might be. "Daisie might be her daughter's name and the song might be referring to her," one fan wrote in the YouTube comments. "I always like to announce things through my music, which is my main focus and everything stems from that," Perry said in an interview with Hits Radio this week, perhaps supporting the fan theories.
Regardless of meanings and theories, one thing's for sure, the music video is as beautiful as the single, and we cannot wait to hear the album, due to be released later this summer.
