Miley Cyrus Gushes Over "Fairy Godmother" Dolly Parton While Presenting Her Billboard Award

Dolly Parton won the first-ever hitmaker award during the Billboard Women in Music event on Thursday night, and none other than goddaughter Miley Cyrus had the honour of presenting her with the accolade. During the virtual presentation, Cyrus gushed about her "very precious fairy godmother," saying, "I've never met anyone that doesn't like Dolly Parton, and it's safe to say if they don't like her, it's only because they love her." Ain't that the truth! She went on to rattle off a smattering of the country queen's notable accomplishments through the years, such as securing 10 Grammys "under her customised, bedazzled belt" and having a record-breaking 26 songs nab the No. 1 spot on the Billboard country music charts.

While accepting the latest trophy for her growing collection, a very elated Parton gave a shoutout to a few women she admires in the music industry, including Taylor Swift, Brandi Carlile, and Loretta Lynn. She also added, "I think it's so important that we acknowledge the women that write and sing in country music, and I think it's also very important that they take control of their own business."
