Normani and Doja Cat Tease Possible Collaboration

A Normani and Doja Cat Collaboration May Be in Our Future

Normani and Doja Cat may be cooking something up. The singers attended the Billboard Women in Music event on March 2, where Normani presented Doja Cat with the Powerhouse Award. Prior to the award show, Doja Cat crashed Normani's red carpet interview, and the two hinted at the possibility of a forthcoming collaboration. The exciting prospect comes as Normani prepares to release her next single, "Fair," on March 18.

In an interview with Billboard on the red carpet, Normani spoke about the work ethic she shares with Doja Cat. "I'm a hard worker, so I can see that in her, and that's what I love so much," she said. "I've been wanting to collaborate with her for such a long time. I have my dream list of collaborations, and she's definitely on it." It was then that Doja Cat suddenly appeared and, when prompted about potentially getting in the studio with Normani, said, "We should, we should." Normani added, "We've talked about it."

Normani continued to praise Doja Cat when presenting her with her award, which was followed by Doja Cat's stripped-down performance of "Alone." Noting Doja Cat's "chameleon-like skillset," Normani said, "There's nothing she can't do." She added, "I continue to remain in awe of her hard work and absolutely every part of her art."

Doja Cat is riding a wave of critical acclaim following the release of her third album, "Planet Her," which is nominated for best pop vocal album and album of the year at the Grammys. It was also just announced that she will be joining The Weeknd on his After Hours Til Dawn tour, which kicks off in July. Normani, meanwhile, has been working on her highly anticipated debut album for several years. The release of "Wild Side" last summer and the upcoming release of "Fair" suggest that we can expect the album sooner rather than later.
