Way back in season two, Joey angers the writers of Days of Our Lives by telling reporters that he had come up with most of his own lines. This prompts them to kill off his character, Dr. Drake Ramoray, by having him fall down an lift shaft. Fast-forward to this this episode, where Joey finds out Dr. Drake Ramoray will awaken from a coma after receiving a brain transplant from a woman played by Susan Sarandon (who doesn't know she's about to be killed off herself).
