"Cruisin" by D'Angelo

D'Angelo (Feb. 11) is an extremely talented singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, credited for playing a huge role in the neo-soul movement along with queens Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. Teaching himself piano starting at the age of just 3, D'Angelo released bestselling albums Brown Sugar (1995) and Voodoo (2000) to critical acclaim, and took a 14-year long hiatus until 2014, when he came back with Black Messiah. Many hail him as a musical genius, and it seems that the stars are aligned for him to march to the beat of his own drum.
