Loosely based on a true story, the acclaimed drama Deadwood follows similar themes as Yellowstone: a small, rural community facing down enormous change brought in from the outside. Although Deadwood takes place in the actual "wild West" of the 1870s, as opposed to the modern-day Western setting of Yellowstone, the family and community drama are pretty similar.
