It only took a few decades, but in 2019, King finally got to put "superhero" on her resume. In HBO's adaptation of the famed graphic novel, King plays Angela Abar, a detective in the Tulsa police department who moonlights as the vigilante Sister Night — and has a connection to another famous superhero too. King won her fourth Emmy for "Watchmen," tying Alfre Woodard's record for the most-decorated Black performer in Emmys history.
