"Booksmart": Wilde made her directorial debut with the 2019 film, which is about two straight-A high school seniors (played by Feldstein and Dever) who decide they want to have one last night of partying before graduation. "I always wanted to make movies and be a part of the moviemaking process," she told Variety of making her directorial debut. "I always assumed acting was the way in, because for many young women . . . they're told, 'You love movies — you should be a movie star.' No one tells a little girl, 'Why don't you become a director?' It's just not a part of the conversation. But if a little boy says he loves movies, it's like, 'Maybe one day you'll direct. Maybe you'll be the next Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese.'"
"Don't Worry Darling": Starring Styles and Pugh, the film is about a married couple living a seemingly idyllic life — that is, until Pugh's Alice starts to have doubts and tensions come to a head. Wilde told Vogue in December 2021 that it was important to her to make a film that was "really sexy, in a grown-up way." The director said she was inspired by films like "Fatal Attraction" and "Indecent Proposal." "I kept saying, 'Why isn't there any good sex in film anymore?'" she recalled. "Don't Worry Darling" hits theatres Sept. 23.
