January 2021: Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum Meet

The pair first connected while working on Kravitz's directorial debut, "Pussy Island," and dating rumours began swirling almost immediately. At the time, a source told People that the pair weren't dating.

Later that year, Kravitz told Deadline that she had Tatum in mind for his role in "Pussy Island" before even meeting him. "[He was the one] I thought of when I wrote this character," she said in a June 2021 interview. "I just knew from 'Magic Mike' and his live shows, I got the sense he's a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter."
