Guy Remmers as Theo, Duke of Tintagel
New on the scene is Bristol-born actor, Guy Remmers, who stars in "The Buccaneers" as Theo, Duke of Tintagel; a marriage suitor for our main heroine, Nan St George. Eagle-eyed fans of the book may notice that Theo seems to be a new character, but he is actually an update to the original Ushant, Duke of Trevenick. The show's creator Katherine Jakeaways said of the change: "I'd say he's the one character actually who we've made more sympathetic than he is in the book and we've made him more of a genuine option for Nan. Because we thought it would be interesting to be not quite clear who we were trying to say was the right man for Nan."
Having spent his early 20s modelling, this is his breakout role – and a breakout for his love life, too. The actor is dating his fellow "The Buccaneers" star, Kristine Froseth, who plays opposite his Duke in the show. Casting Remmers was certainly the way to make this a viable love triangle, as we imagine many fans will be calling for Team Theo.
