"Prey," the fifth movie in the "Predator" franchise, is heading to Hulu on Aug. 5. The movie's plot is very different from the franchise's previous instalments. Set in 1719, the movie follows Naru (Amber Midthunder), a Comanche warrior who realises that the prey she's been hunting is actually a very advanced alien, and she decides to fight it in order to protect her people. "Prey" is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison.

Midthunder is a Native American actor, as is most of the cast. In the main cut of the movie, everyone speaks English, but Hulu will also have a dubbed Comanche version, performed by the cast, available to stream. Trachtenberg opened up to Cinema Blend on July 21 about how he knew Midthunder was right for the part. "The second that I met her, I knew it was most assuredly going to be her. And she is just uniquely talented at saying so much with so little," he explained, adding that the movie doesn't have a lot of dialogue. "In one of the auditions that we had, there was like a physical obstacle course component to it. And she really wasn't just like crawling and hopping over some mats and whatever. She was telling a story while she was doing those physical feats and that's – this movie needed that."

The "Predator" franchise began with 1987's "Predator," which was followed up with 1990s' "Predator 2, " 2010's "Predators," and 2018's "The Predator." Plus, there were two crossover movies: 2004's "Alien vs. Predator" and the 2007 sequel "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem." "Prey" premiered at San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, two weeks before you can catch it on Hulu. Read on to watch the trailer and for all the details you need on the new movie.
