Dua Lipa's Sister Rina Is Making Her Acting Debut
Rina Lipa is ready for her close-up. The 22-year-old model and dancer, who also happens to be Dua Lipa's sister, is set to make her acting debut in a movie spinoff of the Charles Dickens novel "Great Expectations," according to Deadline. A 7 July announcement confirmed the younger Lipa sister will be joining Samuel Arnold, Callan McAuliffe, Blu Hunt, and Annie Q. Riegel in the contemporary adaptation titled "Expectations."
The movie is described as a "companion piece" to the classic story, starring McAuliffe as "Great Expectations" character Pip later in life. Rina's role in the project is still unclear, but it sounds like we'll have more details soon as the project is currently in post-production, and planning for a festival run in late 2023.
Rina first stepped into the spotlight in 2021, when she made her runway debut during Milan Fashion Week. In February of that year, she opened for the GCDS autumn 2021 show, as her older sister was her biggest cheerleader on Instagram. Since then, she's graced the cover of several magazines, attended many a fashion show, and even starred alongside Dua in campaigns for Paco Rabanne and Versace. (Dua recently collaborated with Donatella Versace herself to launch her own collection with the label.)
While Rina's "Expectations" appearance may mark her foray into the big screen, we have a feeling it'll be the first of many.
