Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell Show Off Their Chemistry in "Anyone but You" Trailer

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell are set to join the likes of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and Julia Roberts and Richard Gere as the next rom-com icons. On 9 March, Entertainment Tonight published photographs of the "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Euphoria" stars filming a flirty scene for a then-untitled movie in Australia, which set the internet ablaze.
The buzz surrounding the film has only grown in the months since, with Powell and Sweeney's real-life chemistry sparking debunked dating rumours between the costars. Meanwhile, more details about the project have trickled out, with its leads revealing at CinemaCon 2023 that their new movie is called "Anyone but You."
On 12 Oct., a photo from the film was released, giving us our first official glance at Sweeney and Powell's bond, followed by the teaser trailer on 19 Oct.
Sweeney serves as an executive producer for the movie project, while Will Gluck ("Easy A", "Friends With Benefits") directs the flick. The film will see Powell return to his romantic-comedy roots. After all, before he starred in the Oscar-nominated "Top Gun: Maverick", Powell got his big break in the Netflix rom-com "Set It Up", starring alongside Zoey Deutch.

At CinemaCon, Powell and Sweeney shared details about the movie's plot (which is still mostly under wraps). "As you could probably guess, this movie's about two people that hate each other," Powell said on 25 April, according to Entertainment Tonight. "Sydney plays a character [who is] a real nightmare." Sweeney added that Powell's character is "a real assh*le . . . His character is a real d*ckhead."
Teasing the movie's overall premise, Powell asked, "What better place to put a nightmare and an assh*le than on the other side of the world in the most romantic setting imaginable?"
Previously, while discussing the new film in a 22 March interview with ET, Sweeney stayed tight-lipped about the plot but did tease a little bit of what fans can expect. "Just know the movie is going to be so much fun. It is so funny," she said, adding, "It gives love, it gives humor, it gives sex. It gives all the great things that make a movie. And we want to bring back the good ol' rom-coms with Will Gluck, and we're having a great time doing it."'
In the movie, Sweeney and Powell play adversaries who decide to pretend to be a pretend couple during a friend's wedding getaway.
